Doc, who clearly is working overtime to try to sound relevant over at the HHI website, despite all his recent embarrassments, was attempting to pontificate about Viking history. Saying he wanted to "add" to the debate, he posted up a surprisingly pedantic comment about the Vikings in Irish history. This was met with this rather chilly response from Solomon:
"Doc: that statement you offered - from yourirish.com, by the way - is the standard, orthodox view of Vikings. " [Emphasis ours]In other words, Doc is now not only a bankrupt libeler, but also a gratuitous plagiarizer.
Sure enough, we checked it out, and Doc lifted his Viking post, word for direct word, without any attribution whatsoever, from www.yourirish.com. He provided no source link, didn't put the comment in quotes, nothing. Doc obviously wanted people to think those words were his.
Now, is it just us, or should one expect a higher standard from a website that claims it's deeply committed to history and truth? We certainly think so, but apparently gross plagiarism is only slightly frowned upon (why, for example, wasn't the post fixed or removed?)
Yet another blow to HHI's "credibility" courtesy of co-founder "Doc" Jim McManus (not that we thought they had any to begin with, mind you).

I saw that earlier today. Had the same reaction. Didn't let you know cause I knew you would find it. Can a co-founder be banned? Has Twit Major got the gonads to do it? Better than any reality show or soap opera ever on TV! Hits on your site going like crazy the last couple of days. Probably people wanting to buy a sailboat.
Two years ago Doc and bitch were fighting like meat bees over a dead tuna bone pile. Docs was not welcome in the bitches house and he had been run off of the land by the owners of the property they going to dig on. Hmmmmmmmmm! Strange bed fellows to say the least. Doc had told everyone bitch had lost his mind and was a crazy old demented coot.
